Oyandi was never created to become Mambesak. Oyandi was never created to become Eyuser. We deeply respect Mambesak and Eyuser as important parts of Papua’s musical and cultural journey, each with its own identity, character, history, and contribution.
But Oyandi has its own path.
Oyandi was born from our own cultural journey, experiences, languages, stories, traditions, and the roots of our people. We carry our own identity as Papuan people from the Waropen–Mamberamo region, with our own musical colors, style, language, and way of expressing our culture.
We do not want to become someone else’s shadow.
Mambesak remains Mambesak.
Eyuser remains Eyuser.
And Oyandi remains Oyandi.
We do not need to be compared with anyone to prove who we are. An artistic identity is not built by imitating others, but through a long journey of creating, preserving culture, developing music, and passing our values on to the next generation.
For us, respecting those who came before does not mean becoming like them. Instead, their legacy inspires us to discover, strengthen, and proudly express our own identity.
Oyandi is not here to replace anyone.
Oyandi is here to bring our own color.
From the land of Mamberamo, from the stories of our ancestors, from our language and cultural heritage, we continue to walk our own path with confidence:
We are Oyandi.
We have our identity.
We have our stories.
We have our music.
We have our own path.
We do not need to become Mambesak.
We do not need to become Eyuser.
Because being Oyandi is enough.
OYANDI REMAINS OYANDI.
